Covenant vocabulary
בְּרִית — berit
Covenant — a sworn bond, often cut with sacrifice, not a negotiated contract.
Genesis 15:18חֶסֶד — hesed
Steadfast covenant love — loyalty that outlasts the partner's failure.
Exodus 34:6διαθήκη — diathēkē
Covenant/will — a disposition made by one party, taking effect through death.
